Now not all fuel docks require bookings but alot do and it makes life a lot easier, apart from trying to get a booking in a foreign language :-).
Always call your fuel dock, if you can, ahead of time. See if they need a booking, will take one and also any information you might need to understand about the dock.
How deep is it, Whats the entry like, how high is the dock and what bollards or tie on point are available.
