Line damps out Harmonics more than stainless

The Lagoons are renowned for Humming, when the wind picks up to the point that the whole hull becomes a resonance box a bit like playing a guitar. This is caused by the wind through the rigging and in particular blowing across the spinnaker halyard and topping lift which then resonates through the mast and then hull… . in stronger winds it can sound like an aboriginal BullRoarer inside!!!!

Standard, the topping lift has a stainless shackle to the boom, put a dyneema line in between and the noise reduces considerably, to a tolerable level.

Love it when simple thinking produces simple results.
