When you attach a sail sheet or such like to a sail with a bowline, always tie it with a long loop!!
Long loops tend to reduce incidence of bowlines loosening, but more importantly it makes your life so much easier if you have to swap a line or adjust it whilst the sail is out without hanging overboard to reach or trying to fight with a sail, BTW, NEVER FIGHT WITH A SAIL!!!
