Most things on a boat are designed NOT to be lubricated, Torlon and Delrin bearings for instance just want a bath in fresh water from time to time.
Putting lube near them will at best stain your deck and at worse attract salt and create a grinding paste for your expensive blocks to bath in.
But sometimes you need a lube, most pivots on a boom for instance, or the sliders on your mast track.
