When the going gets rough the tough “CLIP ON”. Simple.
on longer passages we run Jack lines right around the boat so that we can move from one end to the other and always be clipped onto a safety line with out harness.
But even on shorter passages we’ll make sure we are clipped onto solid things when working forward or up at the mast.
I have a number of points where I know I can clip onto and safely work, when setting the spinnaker on the bowsprit for instance, I always make sure I am clipped onto the front of the boat.
