When I looked at refitting the boat for liveaboard one of the big items on my list was the tools I wanted to carry on board and have available.

There are quite a few that I have found essential so I’ll cover those off each day so I can do justice to the why they are essential.

The first thing I agonised over was if battery operated tools would be up for the job…. Well the answer is YES they are, they definitely are and more importantly they are safer around water, and easier to deal with with no leads.. Go for the newer lithium batter models.. but go cordless.
