TODAY I LEARNED

Trust the team and trust the plan

Docking or manoeuvring in tight spaces there are often people on the dock willing to offer advice or a helping hand.

It can be much appreciated, BUT DON’T LET IT DISTRACT FROM THE PLAN. They are not part of your crew, they have not worked with you for along time or had a briefing on what your doing.

In our case they are not connected via the marriage savers (comms units) and can’t hear the conversation as the plan unfolds.

If you are not careful they will derail your discussed plan, confuse the crew who thought they knew what was going to happen when and by whom and cause you to have an issue.

If they can help you WITH YOUR PLAN, great. But make sure you can limit their input to helping you and your crew execute YOUR plan.
