We’ve learnt over the last year that anchor scope, 4:1, 6:1, 7:1 really is pointless and won’t leave you feeling secure. No matter what the depth (in depths between 2-12Metres) if we don’t have out 50m of chain there is a chance we might drag, 60m is better.

A much more reliable estimate of chain to put out is AS MUCH AS YOU CAN IN THE SPACE YOU HAVE AND NEVER LESS THAN 3 X YOUR BOAT LENGTH.
